SandymountInstaller: Evergreen Energy Ltd Contact: Edward Gaynor, 0872497814, edward.gaynor@evergreenenergy.ie This installation was on an old house in Sandymount that was being refurbished and insulated, up until this work was completed the house neither had any insulation or any heating system. For the main heating system the customer installed an ETA PE25 wood pellet boiler, this links directly to the underfloor heating system and heat demand was communicated to the boiler from the control modul for the underfloor system. Due to the ETA's built in return water temperature riser the low temperature of the water returning from the underfloor was not an issue. On the roof of the house there are Evergreen Energy 3 panel AF21 solar panels combined with a dual coil, 300L cylinder in the hot press. Back up to the solar panels is provided by the pellet boiler, the boiler has a separate circuit that can heat the cylinder without having to heat the underfloor at the same time. |

A problem encounter with this house was the lack of space outdoors for a bulk pellet store. However, there was a spare 800mm x 800mm section inside the door of the garage. Combining this with a 45° angular section that rose up midway up the wall of the pellet silo to the ceiling allowed the home owner to take advantage of the high ceilings in the house. As such the bulk storage unit in their garage can hold approx 4 tonnes of pellets and most people would not even notice it's existence. |
